A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE CHIEF
EXECUTIVE OFFICER TO EXECUTE VARIOUS
AGREEMENTS WITH THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA
GAS COMPANY TO OBTAIN A SUPPLY OF NATURAL
GAS FOR THE CITY'S GAS TURBINES

WHEREAS, recent decisions of the California Public
6
utilities commission ("PUC") have made natural gas supplies and
7
transportation more available to users such as the City of
8
Vernon; and
9
WHEREAS, the PUC has approved gas service agreements
between utilities and customers such as the City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, the City has executed a Gas Service Agreement
and a Targeted Sales Service Agreement with the Southern
California Gas Company to supply natural gas for the two gas
turbines located at the Vernon Diesel Plant; and
WHEREAS, the Chief Executive Officer and the Director
of the Light and Power Department need to be able to execute
attachments to the Gas Service Agreement, addenda to the
Targeted Sales Service Agreement and other ancillary agreements
with the Southern California Gas Company.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby authorizes the Chief Executive Officer, with the Director
of the Light and Power Department as alternate, to execute

various attachments, addenda and ancillary agreements by and

between the City of Vernon and the Southern California Gas
3
Company for the sole purpose of obtaining a supply of natural
gas for the City's gas turbines.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
