RESOLUTION NO. 5961
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON DESIGNATING A PORTION OF
SEVILLE AVENUE AS A PUBLIC STREET
WHEREAS, J. BLAK Partnership, Darwin V. and Terrence
J. Dapper, Seymour Owens, Sam and Mary Perricone, Strada
Developments, Donald Investments Company, Vernon Associates,
E. 37th Street Property ~~any and Mutual Benefit Life In-
surance Company entered intq Public Improvement Agreement No.

12 with the City of Vernon on the 16th of October 1990 to im-
prove Jewel Avenue, a private street, to City standards; and
WHEREAS, on January 15, 1991 the City Council ac-
cepted deeds for the street right-of-way, and on August
6, 1991 accepted said street improvements; and
WHEREAS, Jewel Avenue is the northerly extension of
Seville Avenue between 37th street and Vernon Avenue in the
City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that said private street
between 37th Street .and Vernon Avenue be designated as a
pUblic street for the purpose of enforcing.. local and state
highway regulations.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby designates the former Jewel Avenue from 37th street to
Vernon Avenue to be a pUblic street in the City of Vernon for
the purpose of law enforcement, and names said street Seville
Avenue.

2 SECTION 2: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
3 pursuant to Streets and Highways Code section 5026 shall file
4 copies of this resolution with the Los Angeles County Clerk
5 and County Surveyor.
6 SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
7 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon
8 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
9 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 22nd day of October, 1991.
