RESOLUTION NO. 5971
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF
ADVANCE TANK AND CONSTRUCTION COMPANY IN
ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 502 OF THE
CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, Advance Tank and Construction Company was
awarded Contract No. 502 for work on Rehabilitation of Reser-
voir 3-1, pursuant to Resolution No. 5770 of the City of Ver-
non; and
WHEREAS, victor H. Vaits, Director of community
Services has reported to the City council of the City of Ver-
non on August 6, 1991, that said work has been completed and
recommends that the work be accepted and paYment be made to
the Contractor in accordance with the agreement.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contain~d
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The work of Advance Tank and Construc-
tion Company, pursuant to Contract No. 502 is hereby approved
by the City of Vernon.
SECTION 3: The total contract amount is One Hundred
Seventy-nine Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty-one Dollars
($179,831.00). There is now due to the contractor a final
partial paYment totaling Forty-four Thousand Eight Hundred
Ninety-seven Dollars and Twenty-two Cents ($44,897.22), which
is payable at this time, and the remaining ten percent (10%)

of the total contract amount, or the sum of Seventeen Thousand
Nine Hundred Eighty-three Dollars and Ten Cents ($17,983.10)
is payable thirty-five (35) days after the adoption of this
resolution.
SECTION 4: The City Council of the city of Vernon
hereby directs paYment of said sums as set forth to Advance
Tank and Construction Company and instructs the City Clerk to
file a notice of completion with the County Recorder.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon
and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of August, 1991.
