A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AMENDING EXHIBIT "A",
SCHEDULE II, PAGE 14 OF RESOLUTION NO.
5944, WHICH FIXED THE COMPENSATION FOR
CERTAIN EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY AND
AUTHORIZED CERTAIN EXPENSE ALLOWANCES

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5944 was adopted by the City

Council of the city of Vernon on June 20, 1991, to be effective
7
on July 1, 1991; and

WHEREAS, Exhibit "A", Schedule II, page 14 of
Resolution No. 5944 provides for the positions and salary scale
of pOlice officers and sergeants in the Vernon Police
Department; and
WHEREAS, the City council of the City of Vernon adopted
Resolution No. 5489 on March lS, 1988, which approved a
Memorandum of Understanding dated March l, 1988, by and between
the Municipal Employees Relations Representative of the City of
Vernon and the Vernon Police Officers' Benefit Association; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with section 2.4 of the
Memorandum of Understanding, the city Council of the city of
Vernon intends to establish a new salary scale for the positions
of police officers and sergeants in the Vernon Police
Department; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: That Exhibit "A", Schedule II, page l4 of
2 Resolution No. 5944, is hereby amended to establish a new salary
3 scale for the positions of police officers and sergeants in the
4 Vernon Police Department, effective september l, 1991, as
5 indicated on the amended page l4 of Exhibit "A", Schedule II,
6 which is attached hereto as Attachment A and made a part hereof.

SECTION 3: That in all other respects, Resolution No.
8 5944 shall remain in full force and effect and the provisions in
9 Resolution No. 5944 not consistent with or in conflict with this
10 Resolution are hereby repealed.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the city of Vernon .shall
12 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
13 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
14 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 20th day of August, 1991.
