RESOLUTION NO. 5987
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NOt 509 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR REHABILITATION OF RESERVOIR 3-2
IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 509 OF THE
CITY OF VERNON.
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the city
Council of the City of Vernon Contract No. 509 for
Rehabilitation of Reservoir 3-2; and
WHEREAS, the City council of the City of Vernon
has determined that it is in the best interests of the City
of Vernon that said contract be advertised in accordance
with applicable State law.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: Contract No. 509, Rehabilitation of
Reservoir 3-2, is hereby approved by the City Council of the
City of Vernon.
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
is hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of
the City of Vernon a copy of said contract.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
is hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting
sealed proposals or bids for Rehabilitation of Reservoir 3-2
in accordance with Contract No. 509 and in accordance with
this resolution.

SECTION 5: There being no newspaper of general
2 circulation printed, published or circulated in the City of
3 Vernon, the Ci,ty Clerk is hereby directed to post said
4 notice, or cause the same to be posted, in three of the most
5 public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest
6 corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast
7 corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the
8 bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall of the City of
9 Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said City.
10 SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the city of Vernon
11 is hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the
12 first posting of said notice shall be not less than ten (10)
13 days before the opening of the bids for the proposed
14 contract. Said notice shall provide that sealed proposals
15 or bids will be received by the City of Vernon at the office
16 of the City Clerk of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa
17 Fe Avenue, Vernon, CA 90058-0805, until the hour of
18 2:00 p.m. on the 8th day of october, 1991.
19 SECTION 7: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
20 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
21 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
22. effect.
