A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF SPIESS
CONSTRUCTION COMPANY, INC. FOR REHABILITATION
OF RESERVOIR 3-2 IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT
NO. 509 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND APPROVING
THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT
WHEREAS,
Contract No. 509 of the city of Vernon
pursuant to Resolution No. 5987, and sealed bids were opened
on October 8, 1991; and
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to victor H.
Vaits, Director of Community Services, who has reported to
the City council under the date of November 20, 1991,
recommending that Contract No. 509 for Rehabilitation of
14 Reservoir 3-2 be executed with Spiess Construction company,
15 Inc. on the basis of its bid in the sum One Hundred Seventy-
16 eight Thousand One Hundred Eighty Dollars ($ 178,180.00),
17 being the lowest responsible .bid meeting the contract
18 requirements.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
20 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
21 S~CTION 1: The City council of the City of VernOn
22 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
23 hereinabove are true and correct.
24 SECTION 2: The city Council of the City. of Vernon
25 does hereby award Contract No. 509 to spiess Construction
26 Company, Inc. in accordance with the recommendation of
27 victor H. Vaits, Director of Community Services, and
28 authorizes the Mayor to execute said Contract on behalf of

1 the city.

SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to
3 execution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
4 directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or
5 certified checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt
6 of an executed contract from Spiess Construction Company,
7 Inc. accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.
8 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
9 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
10 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
11 effect.
