RESOLUTION NO. 6007
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF SHAWNAN
CORPORATION, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 508
OF THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, Shawnan Corporation was awarded Contract
No. 508 for work on Washington Boulevard Resurfacing
pursuant to Resolution No. 5917 of the City of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, Victor H. Vaits, Director of Community
Services has reported to the City Council of the City of
Vernon on October 28, 1991, that said work has been
completed and recommends that the work be accepted and
payment be made to the Contractor in accordance with the
agreement.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
~ECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTIQN.2: The work of Shawnan Corporation,
pursuant to Contract No. 508. is hereby approved by the City
of Vernon.
SECTION 3: The total contract amount is One
Hundred Seventy Thousand Two Hundred Twelve Dollars Nine
Cents ($170,212.09). There is now due to the Contractor a
final partial payment totaling One Hundred Fifty-two
Thousand six Hundred Ninety Dollars Eighty-eight Cents
($152,690.8.8.), which is payable at this time, and the
remaining ten percent (10%) of the total contract amount, or

1 the sum of Seventeen Thousand Twenty-one Dollars Twent.y-one
2 Cents $(17,021.21) is payable thirty-five days after the
3 adoption of this resolution.
4 SECTION 4: The City Council of the city of Vernon
5 hereby directs payment of said sums as set forth to Shawnan
6 Corporation and instructs the City Clerk to file a notice of
7 completion with the County Recorder.
8 SECTION 5: The city Clerk of the City of Vernon
9 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
10 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
11 effect.
12 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 5th day of November,
