RESOLUTION NO. 6010
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AMENDING SECTION 23,
SUBSECTION (e) AND EXHIBIT "A", SCHEDULE
II, PAGE 15 OF RESOLUTION NO. 5944, WHICH
FIXED THE COMPENSATION FOR CERTAIN
EMPLOYEES OF SAID CITY AND AUTHORIZED
CERTAIN EXPENSE ALLOWANCES
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5944 was adopted by the City
Council of the City of Vernon on June 20, 1991, to be effective
on July 1, 1991; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
considered the performance of the City Administrator/City Clerk
on his annual review date for the purposes of considering a
merit increase; and
WHEREAS , Exhibit "A", Schedule II, page 15 of
Resolution No. 5944 provides for the position and salary scale
of the City Administrator/City Clerk in the city
Administrator/City Clerk Department; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Vernon intends
to establish a new salary scale to provide for a merit increase
for the position of City Administrator/City Clerk in the City
Administrator/city Clerk Department and to provide for
additional benefits as set forth herein; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the city of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2:
Effective October 6, 1991, Exhibit "A",
Schedule II, page 15 of Resolution No. 5944 is hereby amended to
1 establish the salary scale for the position of City
2 Administrator/City Clerk in the City Administrator/City Clerk
3 Department as indicated on the amended page 15 of Exhibi t "A",
4 Schedule II, which is attached hereto as Attachment A and made a
5 part hereof.
6 SECTION 3: Effective October 6, 1991, section 23,
7 subsections (e}(3), (e}(4), (e}(5) and (e) (10) of Resolution No.
8 5944 shall be amended to read as follows:
9 (e) (3) Executive Leave. Twenty (20) days of
10 executive leave effective October 6, 1991.
11 (e) (4) ICMA Retirement. The City shall make a direct
12 payment of $7,500.00, or the maximum amount
13 permitted by the Internal Revenue Service at
14 the time such payment is made, to the ICMA
15 Retirement Corporation on an annual basis on
16 January 1 of each year as deferred
17 compensation, all of said amounts shall be
18 credited to his individual account;
19 (e) (5) Expense Allowance. An expense allowance of
20 $1,700.00 per month;
21 (e}(10) Limousine Service. Continued use of limousine
22 service for personal and business use as
23 needed.
24 SECTION 4: Effective October 6, 1991, section 23,
25 subsection (e) of Resolution No. 5944 shall be amended to add
26 the following subsection:

(e) (12) Leaque of California cities Educational Tour.

The City shall pay time and expense allowance

for attendance at the annual League of
4
California cities' educational tour each year.

SECTION 5:
In all other respects, Resolution Nos.
6 5944, 5973 and 5996 shall remain in full force and effect and
7 the provisions in Resolution Nos. 5944, 5973 and 5996 not
8 consistent with or in conflict with this resolution are hereby
9 repealed.
