A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON APPROVING A ONE-YEAR
EXTENSION OF CONTRACT NO. 478 AND A
PERCENTAGE ADJUSTMENT IN BID PRICE FOR R.
F. DICKSON COMPANY, INC.

WHEREAS, Contract No. 478, Street Sweeping, was awarded
6
to R. F. Dickson Company, Inc., by Resolution No. 5347 on
7
December 9, 1986 for a term of three years from January 1, 1987
8
to December 31, 1989, which has been extended annually since
9
December 31, 1989, and has included a bid price adjustment; and
WHEREAS, said contract provides for annual percentage
adjustments in the bid price based on 75% of the Consumer Price
Index (CPI) as published on January 1 of each year for such
annual extensions after December 31, 1989; and
WHEREAS, said contract will expire on December 31,
1991, unless extended and R. F. Dickson Company, Inc. has
requested a one-year extension of said contract until December
31, 1992, with a percentage adjustment in the bid price based on
75% of the CPI as published on January 1, 1992; and
WHEREAS, the price paid to R. F. Dickson Company, Inc.
during the year January 1, 1991 to December 31, 1991, has been
$3,847.05 per month which includes the annual adjustments based
on the CPI for the previous year; and
WHEREAS, the Director of Community Services has
recommended that said contract be extended and has verified that
R. F. Dickson Company, Inc. is eligible for a bid price
adjustment based on the CPl.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained

hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: The City council of the City of Vernon
hereby approves the Extension of Contract No. 478 with R. F.
5

Dickson, Inc., a copy of which has been presented to the City
7
Council concurrently with this resolution and the City Council
8
hereby orders said Extension to be received and filed by the
9
City Clerk.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby approves an increase in the bid price paid to R. F.
Dickson, Inc., based on 75% of the CPI as published on January
1, 1992.
SECTION 4: The City council of the City of Vernon
hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said
Extension of Contract No. 478 for, and on behalf of, the City of
Vernon.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
