A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF MASS. ELECTRIC
CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL
INSTALLATION, SOTO STREET AND BANDINI BOULEVARD-
37TH STREET, SOTO STREET AND FARMER JOHN DRIVEWAY
AND SOTO STREET AND VERNON AVENUE IN ACCORDANCE
WITH CONTRACT NO. 499 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND
APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT
WHEREAS,
Contract No. 499 of the city of Vernon
pursuant to Resolution No. 6006, and sealed bids were opened
on December 3, 1991; and
11 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to victor H.
12 vaits, Director of Community Services, who has reported to
13 the City Council under the date of December 10, 1991,
14 recommending that Contract No. 499 for Traffic Signal
15 Installation, Soto Street and Bandini Boulevard-37th Street,
16 Soto Street and Farmer John Driveway and Soto .Street and
17 Vernon Avenue be executed with Mass. Electric Construction
18 Company on the basis of its bid in the sum of one Hundred
19 Thirty-four Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty-three Dollars
20 ($ 134,983.00), being the lowest responsible bid meeting the
21 contract requirements.
22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
23 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
24 SECTION 1: The City council of the city of Vernon
25 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
26 hereinabove are true and correct.
27 SECTION 2: The city Council of the city of Vernon
28 does hereby award Contract No. 499 to Mass. Electric

1 Construction Company, in accordance with the recommendation
2 of victor H. Vaits, Director of Community Services, and
3 authorizes the Mayor to execute said Contract on behalf of
4 the City.
5 SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to
6 execution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
7 directed to return to unsuccessful bidders any cashier or
8 certified checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt
9 of an executed contract from Mass. Electric Construction
10 Company accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.
11 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
12 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
13 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
14 effect.
15 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of December,
16 1991.
