RESOLUTION NO. 6027
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT BY AND
BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON AND J-BLAK
PROVIDING FOR PAYMENT FOR INSTALLATION AND
OPERATION OF A TRAFFIC SIGNAL ON SOTO
STREET BETWEEN VERNON AVENUE AND 37TH
STREET
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has required J-BLAK to
construct certain frontage improvements and widen Soto Street
adjacent to its property on the west side of Soto Street between
37th Street and Vernon Avenue; and
WHEREAS, J-BLAK has requested the City of Vernon to
approve the construction of a driveway access to the J-BLAK
property across from the main entrance driveway for the Farmer
John facility on Soto Street between 37th Street and Vernon
Avenue; and
WHEREAS, the construction of the driveway access will
require the construction and installation of certain traffic
signal devices and appurtenant equipment; and
WHEREAS, J-BLAK has agreed to fund the construction
cost of the entire traffic signal and coordination system and to
pay fifty percent (50%) of the operation and maintenance costs
of the signal; and
WHEREAS, J-BLAK and the City of Vernon desire to enter
into an agreement setting forth the terms and conditions for the
construction, installation, operation, and maintenance of said
traffic signal.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The city council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct..
SECTION 2: The City Council of the city of Vernon
hereby approves the Agreement, a copy of which has been
presented to the city Council concurrently with this resolution
and the City Council hereby orders said Agreement to be received
and filed by the City Clerk.
SECTION 3: The City council of the city of Vernon
hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said
Agreement for, and on behalf of, the city of Vernon.
SECTION 4: The city Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of January, 1992.
