A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO.
6032 WHICH SET THE TIME AND PLACE FOR
REGULAR MEETINGS OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AND SET THE TIME AND
PLACE OF MEETINGS FOR COMMITTEES AND
COMMISSIONS OF THE CITY OF VERNON

WHEREAS, the city Council of the City of Vernon adopted
Resolution No. 6032 on January 7, 1992, which set the time and
place for regular meetings of the City Council and other
committees and commissions of the City of Vernon; and
9
WHEREAS, by letter dated January 16, 1992, Bruce V.
Malkenhorst, the City Administrator/city Clerk, has recommended
that Resolution No. 6032 be rescinded in order to comply with
Section 3.10 of the Charter of the City of Vernon and clarify
conflicting language in the Vernon City Code, 1959.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby repeals Resolution No. 6032.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

January 16, 1992
At the City Council meeting held January 7, 1992, Resolution No. 6032,
pertaining to the meeting times of the City Council and other committees
and commissions of the City was approved and adopted. Section 3.10
of the City Charter provides that the establishment of Council meetings
is to be set by Ordinance. The Vernon Municipal Code appears to have
some conflicting language respecting Finance Committee meetings.
Based on the above information it is hereby r~commended that Resolution
No. 6032 be rescinded; and Ordinance No. 10Q~which will set forth the
time and date of City Council meetings in order to comply with the
Charter of the City, and authorizing that all other time of committees &
commissions be set by resolution, be introduced and read for a first
reading at the January 21, 1992 City Council meeting.
