A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON COMMENDING FRANCIS WALT
SUMNER FOR HIS MANY YEARS OF SERVICE TO
THE CITY OF VERNON

6 WHEREAS, FRANCIS WALT SUMNER has been employed by the
7 City of Vernon since May 27, 1954; and
8 WHEREAS, said FRANCIS WALT SUMNER will retire from the
9 service of the City of Vernon on January 30, 1992; and
10
WHEREAS, FRANCIS WALT SUMNER is a Senior Code
11 Enforcement Inspector in the Community Services Department and
12 has served as such since his lateral transfer from the Vernon
13 Fire Department on January 29, 1989, and has faithfully served
14 the City of Vernon for approximately 37 years, and his loss will
15 be deeply felt by the City of Vernon.
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
17 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon,
19 takes this opportuni ty to commend FRANCIS WALT SUMNER for his
20 years of devoted service to the City of Vernon.
21
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
22 wishes FRANCIS WALT SUMNER continued success in whatever
23 endeavors he may undertake.
24
SECTION 3: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
25 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and present a
26 certified copy thereof to FRANCIS WALT SUMNER and that thereupon
27 and thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effeot.
