A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF SILVIA
CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR RESURFACING OF VARIOUS
STREETS, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 507 OF
THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, Silvia cons.truction, Inc. was awarded
pursuant to Resolution No. 5989 of the city of Vernon; and
WHEREAS, Victor H. vaits, Director of Community
Services has reported to the City Council of the City of
Vernon on January 28, 1992, that said work has been
completed and recommends that the work be accepted and
paYment be made to the contractor in accordance with the
14 agreement.
15 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
16 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
17 SECTION 1: The city council of the city of Vernon
18 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
19 hereinabove are true and correct.
20 SECTION 2: The work of Silvia construction, Inc.,
21 pursuant to contract No. 507 is hereby approved by the city
22 of Vernon.
23 SECTION 3: The total contract amount is Three
24 Hundred Ninety-nine Thousand Two Hundred Sixty-seven Dollars
25 and Thirty Cents ($399,267.30). There is now due to the
26 Contractor a final partial paYment totaling Two Hundred
27 Forty Thousand Seven Hundred Thirty-seven Dollars and
28 Fifteen Cents $(240,737.15), which is payable at this time,

1 and the remaining ten percent (10%) of the total contract
2 amount, or the sum of Thirty-nine Thousand Nine Hundred
3 TWenty-six Dollars and Seventy-three Cents $(39,926.73) is
4 payable thirty-five days after the adoption of this
5 resolution.
6 SECTION 4: The City council of the city of Vernon
7 hereby directs paYment of said sums as set forth to silvia
8 Construction, Inc. and instructs the City Clerk to file a
9 notice of completion with the County Recorder.
10 SECTION 5: The city Clerk of the City of Vernon
11 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
12 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be full force and
