RESOLUTION NO. 6046
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON ADOPTING THE WATER SHORTAGE
CONTINGENCY PLAN PREPARED BY THE CENTRAL
BASIN MUNICIPAL WATER DISTRICT AS VERNON'S
WATER SHORTAGE CONTINGENCY PLAN FOR THE
USE AND ALLOCATION OF THE AVAILABLE SUPPLY
OF WATER
WHEREAS, the California Legislature enacted Assembly
Bill No. 11 which mandates that every urban water supplier shall
prepare, adopt and submit to the Department of Water Resources
an amendment to its urban water management plan providing an
urban water shortage contingency plan; and
WHEREAS, each urban water supplier shall coordinate the
preparation of its urban water shortage contingency plan with
other urban water suppliers and public agencies in the area; and
WHEREAS, the Central Basin Municipal Water District has
prepared a water shortage contingency plan which will comply
with Assembly Bill No. 11.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1:
The City council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2:
The City council of the City of Vernon
hereby adopts the water shortage contingency plan prepared by
the Central Basin Municipal Water District, a copy of which has
been presented to the City Council concurrently with this
resolution, and the city Council hereby orders Vernon's water
shortage contingency plan to be received and filed by the City
Clerk.

SECTION 3:
The Director of Community Services is
hereby authorized and directed to implement the water shortage
contingency plan as detailed in the adopted plan and to carry
out effective and equitable water shortage programs.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the city of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 4th day of February, 1992.
