RESOLUTION NO. 6067
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 512 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR RESURFACING OF CERTAIN STREETS
IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 512 OF THE
CITY OF VERNON.
6 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City
7 Council of the City of Vernon Contract No. 512 for
8 Resurfacing of Certain Streets, which include 25th and 27th
9 Streets between Alameda street and Santa Fe Avenue, 44th and
10 46th Streets between Soto Street and Alcoa Avenue, and Ross
11 Street between Alameda Street and 37th Street; and
12 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon
13 has determined that it is in the best interests of the City
14 of Vernon that said contract be advertised in accordance
15 with applicable State law.
16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
17 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
18 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
19 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
20 hereinabove are true and correct.
21 SECTION 2: Contract No. 512, Resurfacing of
22 certain Streets is hereby approved by the City Council of
23 the City of Vernon.
24 SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
25 is hereby directed to file in his office at the city Hall of
26 the City of Vernon a copy of said contract.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
28 is hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting

1 sealed proposals or bids for Resurfacing of certain streets,
2 in accordance with Contract No. 512 and in accordance with
3 this resolution.
4 SECTION 5: There being no newspaper of general
5 circulation printed, published or circulated in the City of
6 Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said
7 notice, or cause the same to be posted, in three of the most
8 pUblic places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest
9 corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast
10 corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the
11 bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall of the city of
12 Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said City.
13 SECTIO~ 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
14 is hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the
15 first posting of said notice shall be not less than ten (10)
16 days before the opening of the bids for the proposed
17 contract. Said notice shall provide that sealed proposals
18 or bids will be received by the City of Vernon at the office
19 of the City Clerk of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa
20 Fe Avenue, Vernon, CA 90058-0805, until the hour of 2:00
21 p.m. on the 17th day of March, 1992.

SECTION 7: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 3rd day of March, 1992.
