A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 5942, WHICH
APPROVED A BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1991-
1992, TO REFLECT INCREASES

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5942 was adopted by the City
6
Council of the City of Vernon on June 20, 1991, which approved a
7
budget for the fiscal year 1991-1992; and
8
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 6018 adopted December 3, 1991,
9
amended Resolution No. 5942 by, among other items, increasing the
10

capital equipment budget for street operations on page 1 of Exhibit
12

"A" from $82,800 to $103,800 to provide for the purchase of a truck
at a cost of $21,000; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 6035 adopted on January 21, 1992,
amended Resolution No. 5942 by, among other items, increasing the

capital equipment budget for street operations from $103,800 to
$273,800 to provide for the purchase of a vacuum and jetter truck
at a proposed cost of $170,000; and
19
WHEREAS, the bid results exceeded said proposed cost and
the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes to amend the budget
for fiscal year 1991-1992 to reflect the increased requirement for

the fiscal year for said expenditure.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE

CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
25

approves the increase to the budget totaling $28,390 as set forth
in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof as though
27

fully set forth at length to reflect a certain increased

requirement for the fiscal year 1991-1992 for capital equipment for
the Community services Department of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the certain item set forth in Exhibit "A"
is a necessary increase in expenditure for capital equipment, and
the City Council of the City of Vernon further finds and determines
that the same is in the best interests of the city of Vernon and
constitutes a reasonable expenditure of public funds.
SECTION 3: The city Clerk of the ci ty of Vernon is
directed to file this resolution with the County Auditor of Los
Angeles County within sixty (60) days after its passage, to fulfill
the purposes of sections 53900 and 53901 of the Government Code of
the state of California with respect to this amendment.
SECTION 4: The Ci ty Clerk of the City of Vernon is
directed to certify to the passage of this resolution, and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of March, 1992.
