A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE DONATION OF
SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE CITY CLERK'S
DEPARTMENT (FINANCE-VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS)
TO THE VERNON CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

7 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by
8 letter dated March 5, 1992, recommended to the Finance Committee
9 that property from the City Clerk's Department (Finance-Various
10 Departments) more particularly described on the attached Exhibit
11 "A", which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, is surplus
12 to the needs of the City of Vernon as said computer equipment
13 and parts are no longer useful to the needs of the City of
14 Vernon; and
15 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance has
16 also recommended to the Finance Committee that property from the
17 City Clerk's Department (Finance-various Departments) more
18 particularly described on the attached Exhibit "A" be donated to
19 the Chamber of Commerce of the city of Vernon for use in
20 community activities; and
21
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
22 determined that the donation of said surplus property to the
23 Chamber of Commerce of the City of Vernon will serve a public
24 purpose by (i) promoting the general municipal welfare; (ii)
25 providing public beneficial effect; and (iii) being in the best
26 interests of the constituents of the City of Vernon.
27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
28 THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained

hereinabove are true and correct.
In accordance with section 37350 of the

SECTION 2 :
Government Code of the State of California, the City Council of
6

the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property
described in the attached Exhibit "A" is surplus to the needs of
8
the City of Vernon.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon

hereby finds and determinations that the donation of the
property described in the attached Exhibit "A" to the Chamber of
13
Commerce of the City of Vernon for use in community activities.

SECTION 4: The City Administrator/City Clerk is hereby
authorized to donate said surplus property to the Chamber of
15
Commerce of the City of Vernon.

certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
