RBSOLUTION NO. 6080
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF SILVIA
CONSTRUCTION, INC. FOR RESURFACING OF CERTAIN
STREETS IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 512
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION
OF SAID CONTRACT
6 WHEREAS, Contract No. 512 of the City of Vernon
7 was approved by the City council of the City of Vernon
8 pursuant to Resolution No. 6067, and sealed bids were opened
9 on March 17, 1992; and
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to victor H.
11 Vaits, Director of Community Services, who has reported to
12 the City Council under the date of March 23, 1992,
13 recommending that Contract No. 512 for Resurfacing of
14 Certain Streets, which include 25th and 27th Streets between
15 Alameda Street and Santa Fe Avenue, 44th and 46th Streets
16 between Soto Street and Alcoa Avenue, and Ross Street
17 between Alameda Street and 37th Street, be executed with
18 Silvia Construction, Inc. on the basis of its bid in the sum
19 of Two Hundred Seventy-six Thousand Three Hundred Forty-one
20 Dollars and Fifty-four Cents ($276,341.54), being the lowest
21 responsible bid meeting the contract requirements.
22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
23 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
24 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
25 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
26 hereinabove are true and correct.
27 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
28 does hereby award Contract No. 512 to Silvia Construction,

Inc., in accordance with the recommendation of victor H.
Vaits, Director of Community services, and authorizes the
Mayor to execute said Contract on behalf of the City.
SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to
execution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or
certified checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt
of an executed contract from Silvia Construction, Inc.
accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.
SECTION 4: The city Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of April, 1992.

being Resolution No. 6080, was duly adopted by the City of
Vernon at a regular meeting of the City Council duly held on
Tuesday, April 7, 1992 and thereafter was duly signed by the
Mayor of the City of Vernon.
