A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF
SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE CITY CLERK'S
DEPARTMENT (FINANCE-VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS)
PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON
CITY CODE AND RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO.

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 6076, adopted by the City
7 Council of the City of Vernon on March 17, 1992, authorized the
8 donation of surplus property (computer equipment) from the City
9 Clerk's Department (Finance-Various Departments) to the Vernon
10 Chamber of Commerce; and
11 WHEREAS, the Vernon Chamber of Commerce has determined
12 that the surplus property donated to them pursuant to Resolution
13 No. 6076 is not beneficial to them; and
14 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, City Administrator/City
15 Clerk, by letter dated April 2, 1992, recommended to the City
16 Council that the property formerly donated to the Vernon Chamber
17 of Commerce from the City Clerk's Department (Finance-Various
18 Departments) more particularly described on the attached Exhibit
19 "A", which is attached hereto and made a part hereof, is surplus
20 to the needs of the City of Vernon as said computer equipment
21 and parts are no longer useful to the needs of the City of
22 Vernon; and

WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent,
24 has recommended that the said surplus property be disposed of
25 pursuant to section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code; and
26
WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Vernon has
27 determined that it is in the best interests of the City of
28 Vernon that the computer equipment be sold as surplus pursuant

to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: That in accordance with section 37350 of
the Government Code of the State of California, the City Council
of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the
computer equipment more particularly described in the attached
Exhibit "A" is surplus to the needs of the City Clerk's
Department (Finance-various departments) of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 3: The City Administrator/City Clerk is hereby
authorized to obtain bids pursuant to section 2.31 of the Vernon
City Code for the sale of the computer equipment as surplus
property.
SECTION 4: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby rescinds Resolution No. 6076.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of April, 1992.
