2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON ESTABLISHING THE RATES FOR THE SALE OF
3 WATER IN THE CITY OF VERNON IN ACCORDANCE WITH
THE VERNON CITY CODE AND REPEALING RESOLUTION NO.
4 5924
5 WHEREAS, Vernon City Code Sections 25.1, 25.2, 25.3, 25.5,
6 25.46, 25.48 and 25.51 provide that the rates for the sale of water
7 in the City are to be set by resolution; and
8 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon adopted
9 Resolution No. 5924 on May 21, 1991 setting the water rates
10 effective for the regular billing of July, 1991; and
11
WHEREAS, victor H. Vaits, Director of Community Services,
12 has recommended by memo dated April 27, 1992, that the rates
13 established for water services be raised to reflect the increased
14 cost of providing said services and that the adjusted rates become
15 effective for regular billing for July, 1992; and
16
WHEREAS, the proposed rate changes were approved by the
17 Finance Committee on May 12, 1992; and
18
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes to
19 establish new rates for the sale of water in the City of Vernon in
20 accordance with the Vernon City Code and to repeal Resolution No,
21 5924.
22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
23 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the city of Vernon
25 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove
26 are true and correct,

SECTION 2: The City council of the City of Vernon does
28 hereby establish the rates for the sale of water in the City of

8 6. Vernon 2 (CMD) Sewer Charqe (V.C.C, Sec. 25.49):
9 A monthly sewer maintenance charge for Vernon 2 (CMD) has
10 been established by Vernon City Code section 25.49 and will
11 be added to the water bill. These rates are set forth
12 herein for information only,

24 SECTION 4: Effective July 1, 1992, Resolution No. 5924 is
25 repealed,

SECTION 5:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
