A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 5942, WHICH
APPROVED A BUDGET FOR THE FISCAL YEAR 1991-
1992, TO REFLECT INCREASES

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5942 was adopted by the City
7 Council of the City of Vernon on June 20, 1991, which approved a
8 budget for the fiscal year 1991-1992; and
9
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 6018 adopted December 3, 1991,
10 amended Resolution No. 5942 by, among other items, increasing the
11 supplieslservices budget for power plant operations on page 2 of
12 Exhibit "A" from $2,072,800 to $2,172,800 to reflect the provision
13 of contract services and preparation of an air toxic inventory
14 report; and
15
WHEREAS, Combustion Turbine Unit #7 at the power plant is
16 in need of repairs at a cost of $20,000,00, and a replacement
17 rental unit at an additional cost of $60,000.00 will save the City
18 of Vernon approximately three times that amount in replacement
19 energy costs during the estimated three-month repair period; and
20
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon wishes to
21 amend the budget for fiscal year 1991-1992 to reflect the increased
22 requirement for the fiscal year for said expenditure.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
24 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
26 approves the increase to the budget totaling $80,000 as set forth
27 in Exhibit "A" attached hereto and made a part hereof as though
28 fully set forth at length to reflect a certain increased

requirement for the fiscal year 1991-1992 for supplieslservices for
the Light and Power Department of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the city of Vernon hereby
finds and determines that the certain item set forth in Exhibit "A"
5

is a necessary increase in expenditure for supplieslservices, and
7
the City council of the City of Vernon further finds and determines
that the same is in the best interests of the City of Vernon and
8
constitutes a reasonable expenditure of public funds.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the city of Vernon is
directed to file this resolution with the County Auditor of Los
12
Angeles County within sixty (60) days after its passage, to fulfill
the purposes of sections 53900 and 53901 of the Government Code of
13
the State of California with respect to this amendment,
14
15
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the ci ty of Vernon is
directed to certify to the passage of this resolution, and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
16

effect.
