A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
PARTICIPATION IN THE STATEWIDE PURCHASING
PROGRAM SPONSORED BY THE COUNTY SUPERVISORS
ASSOCIATION OF CALIFORNIA AND THE LEAGUE OF
CALIFORNIA CITIES

WHEREAS, the County Supervisors Association of California
7
and the League of California cities have sponsored a statewide
8
purchasing program for local public agencies; and
9

WHEREAS, under this statewide purchasing program, a lead
public agency has been designated to contract for volume discount
pricing on certain products and services for the benefit of local
public agencies throughout the State of California; and
WHEREAS,
the City of Vernon is
interested in
participating in this statewide purchasing program because of the

opportunity to generate savings on the goods and services offered
under the program.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
20
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are
21
true and correct,
22
The city Council hereby authorizes
SECTION 2 :
23
participation by the City of Vernon in the statewide purchasing
24
25
26
program jointly sponsored by the County Supervisors Association of
California and the League of California cities,
SECTION 3: The City Council hereby authorizes the City
27
Administrator to execute purchase orders and documents and to
28
perform such other acts and deeds as may be necessary or convenient
1 to effect the purposes of this resolution and the City's
2 participation in the statewide purchasing program.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
4 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
5 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 19th day of May, 1992.
