RESOLUTION NO. 6114
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING
THE EXECUTION OF A CITYLINK SUBSCRIBER
SERVICE ADDENDUM BY AND BETWEEN
INFORMATION FOR PUBLIC AFFAIRS, INC. AND
THE CITY OF VERNON, A MEMBER OF THE LEAGUE
OF CALIFORNIA CITIES, WHICH EXTENDS THE
CITYLINK SUBSCRIBER AGREEMENT FOR AN
ADDITIONAL TWELVE (12) MONTHS
WHEREAS, the League of California cities offers its
members, in conjunction with the state Net Services of
Information for Public Affairs, Inc., (IPA), a subscription
service to a program referred to as "CITYLINK" which provides
access to a private network of legislative bill tracking,
electronic mail and data base services; and
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon previously determined that
the CITYLINK program would assist in the city's operation by
enabling it to obtain information pertaining to California and
federal legislative and regulatory activities as well as
obtaining help from the League of California cities Legal
Services System; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5774 approved by the City
Council of the City of Vernon on June 19, 1990, authorized the
execution of a CITYLINK Subscriber Agreement dated on or about
May 15, 1990, by and between the City of Vernon and IPA; and
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5940 approved by the City
Council of the City of Vernon on June 18, 1991, authorized the
execution of an Amendment to CITYLINK Subscriber Agreement,
which extended the term of the Agreement for the period July 1,
1991 through June 30, 1992; and
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon desires to execute a

CITYLINK Subscriber Service Addendum to renew the CITYLINK

Subscriber Agreement for an additional year, July 1, 1992
through June 30, 1993, at the same agreed cost of Two Thousand

One Hundred Eighty-Five Dollars ($2,185.00), which includes
sixty (60) hours of computer connect time.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF

THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
9
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
10
hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon

hereby approves the CITYLINK Subscriber Service Addendum, a copy
of which has been presented to the City Council concurrently
with this resolution and the city Council hereby orders said
15

Addendum to be received and filed by the City Clerk.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the city of Vernon

hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said
18
Addendum for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.

SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the city of Vernon shall
20

certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 16th day of June, 1992.

SERVICE ADDENDUM
A,greementmade this 28th day of May, 1992, between
Information for Public Affairs, Inc. (IPA) and
City of Vernon (Subscriber), a member of the League of
California Cities 1the League).
I. ELEMENTS OF SERVICE. All the elements of service provided
will be extended for an additional twelve month period
through the last day of June, 1993.
II. PAYMENT SCHEDULE. The total base fee payable under thi$
extension is $2,185.00, andis to be paid in advance. Any
use fees for services in addition to those included in the
base fee shall be billed monthly in accordance with the
attached Rate Schedule Addendum.

RATE SCHEDULE ADDENDUM
CONNECT TIME. Connect time in acidition to that provided in the
contract will be billed at the rate of $.70 per minute ($42 per
hour) for each minute of additional connect time.
At Subscriber.optiQn, additional connect time may be pre-
purchased in minimum blocks of 12 hours at $300. *
USER LOGINS. Additional logins(including one. set of usex.:'
guides) may be purchased at the rate of $Sper month ($60
annually) . per each login. Logins permit access by more than one
user under Subscriber's agreement, and provide separate
accounting for connect time used by each .separate login.
TRAINING. Training at Subscriber's location may be purchased at
a cost of $250 per half day plus travel expenses. Up to eight
persons from Subscriber's offices may attend a training session..
USER MATERIALS. Subscriber may order. additional user materials
as follows:

CALIFORNIA DIRECTORIES. Subscriber may order additional copies
of California directories at $50 per copy.
STATE NET also offers National Directories and other

received by IPA no later than the last working day of the
month to be applicable usage in the subsequent month.
