1 RESOLUTION NO. 6120
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING ADDITIONS AND CHANGES TO THE
3 CITY OF VERNON MASTER PLAN OF STREETS
4 WHEREAS, the City Council adopted a Master Plan of Streets
5 for the City of Vernon in September 1964, as amended on April 1,
6 1986; and
7 WHEREAS, the Infrastructure Element of the Vernon General
8 Plan sets minimum street classification standards for arterial
9 streets (80 to 120 feet for right-of-way, 64 to 104 feet from curb
10 to curb), collector streets (80 feet for right-of-way, 64 feet from
11 curb to curb), and local streets (60 to 65 feet of right-of-way, 42
12 to 49 feet from curb to curb); and
13 WHEREAS, many of the streets on the Master Plan of Streets
14 do not meet said minimum street classification standards; and
15 WHEREAS, the Director of community Services has recommended
16 adoption of additions and changes to the Master Plan of Streets,
17 which additions and changes are set forth in Appendix A attached
18 hereto and made a part hereof by reference; and
19 WHEREAS, said additions and changes conform to the Vernon
20 General Plan.
21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
22 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
24 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are
25 true and correct.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
27 approves and adopts the changes and additions to the Master Plan of
28 Streets for the City of Vernon as set forth in Appendix A.

SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
2 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
3
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

feet east of the centerline of Atlantic Boulevard to Slauson
