RESOLUTION NO. 6131
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF MASS ELECTRIC
CONSTRUCTION COMPANY FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL
INSTALLATION, SOTO STREET AND BANDINI BOULEVARD-
37TH STREET, SOTO STREET AND FARMER JOHN DRIVEWAY
AND SOTO STREET AND VERNON AVENUE IN ACCORDANCE
WITH CONTRACT NO. 499 OF THE CITY OF VERNON

7 WHEREAS, Mass Electric Construction Company was
8 awarded Contract No. 499 for work on Traffic Signal
9 Installation, Soto Street and Bandini Boulevard-37th Street,
10 Soto Street and Farmer John Driveway and Soto Street and
11 Vernon Avenue pursuant to Resolution No. 6022 of the city of
12 Vernon; and
13 WHEREAS, Victor H. Vaits, Director of Community
14 Services has reported to the City Council of the City of
15 Vernon on July 14, 1992, that said work has been completed
16 and recommends that the work be accepted and payment be made
17 to the Contractor in accordance with the agreement.
18 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
19 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
20 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
21 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
22 hereinabove are true and correct.
23 SECTION 2: The work of Mass Electric Construction
24 Company, pursuant to Contract No. 499 is hereby approved by
25 the City of Vernon.

SECTION 3: The total contract amount is One
27 Hundred Thirty-four Thousand Nine Hundred Eighty-three
28 Dollars ($134,983.00). All of the contract amount has been

1 paid except ten percent (10%), or the sum of Thirteen
2 Thousand Four Hundred Ninety-eight Dollars and Thirty cents
3 ($13,498.30), which is payable thirty-five days after the
4 adoption of this resolution.
5 SECTION 4: The City Council of the City of Vernon
6 hereby directs payment of said sum at the indicated time to
7 Mass Electric Construction Company and instructs the City
8 Clerk to file a notice of completion with the County
9 Recorder.
10 SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the city of Vernon

shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be full force and
effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 21st day of July, 1992.
