7 Contract No. 512 for work on Resurfacing of Certain streets

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF SILVIA
CONSTRUCTION, INC., FOR RESURFACING OF CERTAIN
STREETS IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 512 OF
THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, Silvia Construction, Inc. was awarded
pursuant to Resolution No. 6080 of the City of Vernoni and

WHEREAS, Victor H. vaits, Director of Community
10 Services has reported to the City Council of the City of
11 Vernon on July 29, 1992, that said work has been completed
12 and recommends that the work be accepted and payment be made
13 to the Contractor in accordance with the agreement.
14 NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
15 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
16 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
17 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
18 hereinabove are true and correct.
19 SECTION 2: The work of Silvia Construction, Inc.,
20 pursuant to Contract No. 512 is hereby approved by the City
21 of Vernon.

SECTION 3: The total contract amount is Three
23 Hundred six Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty-three Dollars and
24 Ninety-four Cents ($306,953.94). There is now due to the
25 Contractor a final partial payment totaling Two Hundred
26 Twenty-six Thousand Seventy-one Dollars and Forty-two Cents
27 ($226,071.42), which is payable at this time, and the
28 remaining ten percent (10%) of the total contract amount, or

1 the sum of Thirty Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-five Dollars
2 and Thirty-nine Cents ($30,695.39) is payable thirty-five
3 days after the adoption of this resolution.

SECTION 4: The City Council of the City of Vernon
5 hereby directs payment of said sums as set forth to Silvia
6 Construction, Inc. and instructs the City Clerk to file a
7 notice of completion with the County Recorder.

SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
9 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
10
