" '" . , 1 RESOLUTION NO. 6137 2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE 3 4 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by 5 6 letter dated July 6, 1992, recommended to the Finance Committee that certain office furniture property from the Police Department, 7 more particularly described on Exhibit "A", which is attached 8 hereto and made a part hereof, is surplus to the needs of the City 9 of Vernon because said office furniture, is obsolete and only in 10 11 12 fair condition and is therefore no longer useful to the needs of the City of Vernon; and WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, has 13 14 recommended that said surplus property be disposed of by public auction; and 15 16 17 18 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon that said surplus property be sold as surplus pursuant to Section 2.31 of the Vernon City Code. 19 20 21 22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1: In accordance with Section 37350 of the 23 Government Code of the State of California, the City Council of the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property described in the attached Exhibit "A" is surplus to the needs of 24 25 26 the City of Vernon.
