RESOLUTION NO. 6178
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF ARROW STRAIGHT
MARKING AND STRIPING SERVICE FOR TRAFFIC PAVEMENT
STRIPING IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 514 OF
THE CITY OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF
SAID CONTRACT
6 WHEREAS, Contract No. 514 of the City of Vernon
7 was approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon
8 pursuant to Resolution No. 6165, and sealed bids were opened
9 on October 20, 1992; and
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to victor H.
11 Vaits, Director of Community Services, who has reported to
12 the City Council under the date of October 20, 1992,
13 recommending that Contract No. 514 for Traffic Pavement
14 striping 1993 be executed with Arrow Straight Marking and
15 Striping Service on the basis of its bid in the sum of
16 Twenty Nine Thousand Five Hundred Ninety Dollars Sixty-two
17 Cents ($29,590.62), being the lowest responsible bid meeting
18 the contract requirements.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
20 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
21 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
22 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
23 hereinabove are true and correct.
24 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
25 does hereby award Contract No. 514 to Arrow Straight Marking
26 and Striping Service, in accordance with the recommendation
27 of Victor H. Vaits, Director of Community Services, and
28 authorizes the Mayor to execute said Contract on behalf of

1 the city.
2 SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to
3 execution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
4 directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or
5 certified checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt
6 of an executed contract from Arrow straight Marking and
7 striping Service accompanied by all required bonds and
8 certificates.
9 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
10 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
11 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
12 effect.
