A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY
FROM THE POLICE DEPARTMENT, THE COMMUNITY SERVICES
DEPARTMENT, CITY CLERK'S DEPARTMENT (FINANCE) AND
LIGHT AND POWER DEPARTMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION
2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE

WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by
letter dated November 5, 1992, recommended to the Finance Committee
7 that the property from the following departments is surplus to the
8
needs of the City of Vernon as said items are obsolete, inoperable
9
and in poor and irreparable condition and are therefor no longer
10
useful to the needs of the city of Vernon:

1.
Police Department, more particularly described on the
12
attached Exhibit "A", which is attached hereto and made a part hereof
13
by reference;
14
2.
Community Services Department, more particularly
15 described on the attached Exhibit "B", which is attached hereto and
16 made a part hereof by reference;
17
3.
city Clerk's Department (Finance), more particularly
18 described on the attached Exhibit "C", which is attached hereto and
19
made a part hereof by reference;

4.
Light and Power Department, more particularly described
on the attached Exhibit "D", which is attached hereto and m~de a part
22
hereof by reference; and

WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent, has
24
recommended that the said surplus property described in the attached
25
Exhibits "A", "B", "c" and "D" be disposed of by public auction; and
26
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
27
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
28
that the property described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "C",
1 and "D" be sold as surplus property pursuant to section 2.31 of the
2 Vernon City Code.
3 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
4 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
In accordance with section 37350 of the
6 Government Code of the State of California, the City Council of the
7 City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property
8 described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "C", and "0" is surplus
9 to the needs of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2:
The City AdministratorlCity Clerk is hereby
11 authorized to contract with an auction company for the sale of the
12 property described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "C", and "D"
13 as surplus property.

SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the city of Vernon shall
15 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
16 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
17 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of November, 1992.
