A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING A ONE-YEAR EXTENSION OF
CONTRACT NO. 478 FOR R. F. DICKSON COMPANY,
INC.

WHEREAS, Contract No. 478, Street Sweeping, was awarded
to R. F. Dickson Company, Inc., by Resolution No. 5347 on

December 9, 1986 for a term of three years from January 1, 1987
8
to December 31, 1989, which has been extended annually since
9
December 31, 1989; and

WHEREAS, said contract provides for annual percentage
adjustments in the bid price based on 75% of the Consumer Price
Index as published on January 1 of each year for such annual
extensions after December 31, 1989; and
WHEREAS, said contract will expire on December 31,
1992, unless extended, and R. F. Dickson Company, Inc. has
requested a one-year extension of said contract until December
17
31, 1993, with a waiver of the percentage adjustment in the bid
price in accordance with the Consumer Price Index; and
WHEREAS, the price paid to R. F. Dickson Company, Inc.
during the year January 1, 1992 to December 31, 1992, has been
$3,847.05 per month which includes the annual adjustments based
on the CPI for the previous year; and
WHEREAS, the Director of community Services has
recommended that said contract be extended and has verified that
R. F. Dickson Company, Inc. will perform the services for the
same price paid in 1992.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF

THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained

hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby approves the Extension of Contract No. 478 for 1993 with

R. F. Dickson, Inc., a copy of which has been presented to the
9
City Council concurrently with this resolution and the City
Council hereby orders said Extension to be received and filed by

the City Clerk.
SECTION 3: The City council of the City of Vernon
hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute said
Extension of Contract No. 478 for 1993 for, and on behalf of,
the City of Vernon.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and

thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
