RESOLUTION NO. 6183
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO.513 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE OF VARIOUS
STREETS IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 513
OF THE CITY OF VERNON.
6 WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City
7 Council of the City of Vernon Contract No. 513 for Pavement
8 Maintenance of Various Streets; and
9
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon
10 has determined that it is in the best interests of the City
11 of Vernon that said contract be advertised in accordance
12 with applicable State law.
13 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
14 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
15 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
16 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
17 hereinabove are true and correct.
18 SECTION 2: Contract No. 513, Pavement Maintenance
19 of Various Streets, is hereby approved by the City Council
20 of the City of Vernon.
21 SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
22 is hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of
23 the City of Vernon a copy of said contract.
24 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
25 is hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting
26 sealed proposals or bids for Pavement Maintenance of Various
27 Streets, in accordance with Contract No. 513 and in
28 accordance with this resolution.

1 SECTION 5: There being no newspaper of general
2 circulation printed, published or circulated in the City of
3 Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said
4 notice, or cause the same to be posted, in three of the most
5 public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest
6 corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast
7 corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the
8 bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall of the City of
9 Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, in said City.
10 SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
11 is hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the
12 first posting of said notice shall be not less than ten (10)
13 days before the opening of the bids for the proposed
14 contract. Said notice shall provide that sealed proposals
or bids will be received by the City Clerk of the City, at

the City Hall, 4305 Santa Fe Avenue, Vernon
CA 90058-0805,
until the hour of 2:00 p.m. on the 22nd day of December,
1992.
SECTION 7:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.

NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS (BIDS)
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the city of Vernon, (hereinafter
"city") invites and will receive sealed proposals (Bids) up to
the hour of two (2) o'clock p.m. on December 22, 1992 for the
furnishing to said City of all transportation, equipment,
materials, supplies and services necessary for Contract No. 513,
Pavement Maintenance of Various Streets.
At said time, proposals will be publiclY opened and
announced at the offices of the city. Said bids shall conform to
and be responsive to the Contract Documents for said work as
heretofore provided by said City and must be accompanied by the
security referred to therein.
The city Council of the City reserves the right to reject
any and all bids.
Copies of the Contract Documents are on file and may be
examined in the office of the City located at:
Office of Community Services
4305 Santa Fe Avenue
Vernon, CA 90058
Copies may be obtained from said office with a nonrefundable
deposit of $10.00 per set. ($20.00 if mailed.)
