RESOLUTION NO. 6191
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF SULLY-MILLER
CONTRACTING COMPANY FOR PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE
OF VARIOUS STREETS IN ACCORDANCE WITH
CONTRACT NO. 513 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND
APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT
6 WHEREAS, Contract No. 513 of the City of Vernon
7 was approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon
8 pursuant to Resolution No. 6183, and sealed bids were opened
9 on December 22, 1992; and
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to victor H.
11 Vaits, Director of Community Services, who has reported to
12 the City Council under the date of December 23, 1992,
13 recommending that Contract No. 513 for Pavement Maintenance
14 of Various Streets be executed with SUlly-Miller Contracting
15 Company on the basis of its bid in the sum of Two Hundred
16 Fifty-six Thousand Two Hundred Three Dollars and Sixty-seven
17 Cents ($256,203.67), being the lowest responsible bid
18 meeting the contract requirements.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
20 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
21 SECTION 1: The City Council of the city of Vernon
22 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
23 hereinabove are true and correct.
24 SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
25 does hereby award Contract No. 513 to SUlly-Miller
26 Contracting Company, in accordance with the recommendation
27 of Victor H. Vaits, Director of community Services, and
28 authorizes the Mayor to execute said Contract on behalf of

1 the city.
2 SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to
3 execution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
4 directed to return to unsuccessful bidders any cashier or
5 certified checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt
6 of an executed contract from Sully-Miller Contracting
7 Company accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.
8 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the city of Vernon
9 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
10 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
11 effect.
