RESOLUTION NO. 6198
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING CONTRACT NO. 516 AND
AUTHORIZING NOTICE INVITING SEALED PROPOSALS
OR BIDS FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODERNIZATION,
ATLANTIC BOULEVARD AND DISTRICT BOULEVARD,
SANTA FE AVENUE AND PACIFIC BOULEVARD,
SOTO STREET AND FRUITLAND AVENUE AND
BOYLE AVENUE AND LEONIS BOULEVARD IN ACCORDANCE
WITH CONTRACT NO. 516 OF THE CITY OF VERNON.
WHEREAS, there has been presented to the City
8 Council of the City of Vernon Contract No. 516 for Traffic
9 Signal Modernization, Atlantic Boulevard and District
10 Boulevard, Santa Fe Avenue and Pacific Boulevard, Soto
11 Street and Fruitland Avenue and Boyle Avenue and Leonis
12 Boulevard; and
13 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon
14 has determined that it is in the best interests of the City
15 of Vernon that said contract be advertised in accordance
16 with applicable State law.
17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
18 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
19 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
20 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
21 hereinabove are true and correct.
22 SECTION 2: Contract No. 516, Traffic Signal
23 MOdernization, Atlantic Boulevard and District Boulevard,
24 Santa Fe Avenue and Pacific Boulevard, Soto Street and
25 Fruitland Avenue and Boyle Avenue and Leonis Boulevard, is
26 hereby approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
28 is hereby directed to file in his office at the City Hall of

1 the City of Venron a copy of said contract.
2 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
S is hereby directed to give notice, in writing, inviting
4 sealed proposals or bids for Traffic Signal MOdernization,
5 Atlantic Boulevard and District Boulevard, Santa Fe Avenue
6 and Pacific Boulevard, Soto Street and Fruitland Avenue and
7 Boyle Avenue and Leonis Boulevard, in accordance with
8 Contract No. 516 and in accordance with this resolution.

SECTION 5: There being no newspaper of general
10 circulation printed, published or circulated in the City of
11 Vernon, the City Clerk is hereby directed to post said
12 notice, or cause the same to be posted, in three of the most
13 public places in the City of Vernon, to wit: the northwest
14 corner of 38th Street and Santa Fe Avenue, the northeast
15 corner of Leonis Boulevard and Pacific Boulevard, and on the
16 bulletin board in the lobby of the City Hall of the City of
17 Vernon, located at 4305 Santa Fe Avenue in said City.
18 SECTION 6: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
19 is hereby directed to post said notice forthwith and the
20 first posting of said notice shall be not less than ten (10)
21 days before the opening of the bids for the proposed
22 contract. Said notice shall provide that sealed proposals
23 or bids will be received by the City of Vernon at the office
24 of the City Clerk of the City, at the City Hall, 4305 Santa
25 Fe Avenue, Vernon, CA 90058-0805, until the hour of 2:00
26 p.m. on the 9th day of February, 1993.
27 SECTION 7: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
28 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
