A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NO. 6094, WHICH
ESTABLISHED THE RATES FOR THE SALE OF WATER IN
THE CITY OF VERNON, TO ESTABLISH A RATE FOR
RECLAIMED WATER

WHEREAS, the City Council of the city of Vernon adopted
Resolution No. 6094 on May 19, 1992 setting the water rates for
1992/1993 pursuant to Vernon City Code sections 25.1, 25.2, 25.3,

25.5, 25.46, 25.48 and 25.51; and
WHEREAS, the Central Basin Municipal Water District is
constructing a pipeline for the piping of reclaimed water which will
be available in the City of Vernon in 1994; and
WHEREAS, in order to conduct a survey of the number of
14
potential customers for reclaimed water, it is necessary to set the
15

rates for such water; and
WHEREAS, Vernon City Code section 25.9 authorizes the City
17
Council to establish charges for water and water service not
18
otherwise provided for based upon charges provided for in Vernon
19
City Code sections 25.1, 25.2, 25.3, 25.5, 25.46, 25.48 and 25.51;

and
WHEREAS, the Finance Committee on January 14, 1993,
pursuant to the recommendation of the Director of Community
23

Services, has approved a rate for reclaimed water at $0.632 per 100
cubic feet for Vernon 1 and 2, which is 80% of the 1992/1993 potable
25

water rate for Vernon 1 as set forth in Resolution No. 6094,
pursuant to Vernon City Code section 25.1.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove

are true and correct.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
5
hereby amend Resolution No. 6094 in order to establish the rates for
6
the sale of reclaimed water in the City of Vernon pursuant to Vernon
7
City Code Section 25.9 by adding paragraph 7 to Section 2 thereof as
follows:

The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
