A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY
FROM THE COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT, THE
LIGHT AND POWER DEPARTMENT, THE LEGAL DEPARTMENT
AND THE POLICE DEPARTMENT (COMMUNICATIONS
CENTER) PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON
CITY CODE

WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by

letter dated April 8, 1993, recommended to the Finance Committee
10
that the property from the following departments is surplus to the
11
needs of the City of Vernon as said items are obsolete, inoperable
12
and in poor and irreparable condition and are therefor no longer
13
useful to the needs of the City of Vernon:
14
1. Community Services Department, more particularly
15
16
described on the attached Exhibit "A", which is attached hereto
and made a part hereof by reference;
17
2. Light and Power Department, more particularly
18
described on the attached Exhibit "B", which is attached hereto
19
and made a part hereof by reference;
3. Leqal Department, more particularly described on the
attached Exhibit "C", which is attached hereto and made a part
hereof by reference;
4. Police Department (Communications center), more

particularly described on the attached Exhibit "D", which is
25
attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference; and

WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent, has
27
recommended that the said surplus property described in the
attached Exhibits "A", "B"., "C" and "D" be disposed of by public

auction; and

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
3
determined that it is in the best interests of the city of Vernon
4
that the property described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "c"
5
and "D" be sold as surplus property pursuant to section 2.31 of
6
the Vernon City Code.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
8
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: In accordance with section 37350 of the
10

Government Code of the State of California, the City Council of
the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property
12
described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "C" and "D" is
13
surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon.
14
SECTION 2: The City Administrator/City Clerk is hereby
15
authorized to contract with an auction company for the sale of the
l6
property described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "C" and "0"
17
as surplus property.
18
SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
19
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
20
21
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 27th day of April, 1993.
