RESOLUTION NO. 6313
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY
FROM THE COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT, THE RISK
MANAGEMENT/PERSONNEL DEPARTMENT, THE
ADMINISTRATION/CUSTOMER SERVICE DEPARTMENT, THE
LIGHT AND POWER DEPARTMENT, AND THE COMPUTER
SERVICES DEPARTMENT PURSUANT TO SECTION 2.31 OF
THE VERNON CITY CODE
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by

letter dated August 5, 1993, recommended to the Finance Committee

that the property from the following departments is surplus to the
needs of the City of Vernon as said items are obsolete, inoperable
12

and in poor and irreparable condition and are therefor no longer
useful to the needs of the City of Vernon:

1. Community Services Department, more particularly
15

described on the attached Exhibit "A", which is attached hereto
and made a part hereof by reference;
17
2. Risk Management/Personnel Department, more
18
particularly described on the attached Exhibit "B", which is
19
attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference;
20
3. Administration/Customer Service Department, more
21
particularly described on the attached Exhibit "C", which is
22
attached hereto and made a part hereof by reference;

4. Liqht and Power Department, more particularly
24
described on the attached Exhibit "D", which is attached hereto

and made a part hereof by reference;

5. Computer Services Department, more particularly
described on the attached Exhibit "E", which is attached hereto
and made a part hereof by reference; and
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the purchasing Agent, has
recommended that the said surplus property described in the
attached Exhibits "A", "B", "c" "0" and "E" be disposed of by
public auction; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
that the property described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "c"
"0" and "E" be sold as surplus property pursuant to section 2.31
of the Vernon City Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: In accordance with section 37350 of the
Government Code of the State of California, the city Council of
the city of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property
described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "c" "0" and "E" is
surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2: The City AdministratorlCity Clerk is hereby
authorized to contract with an auction company for the sale of the
property described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "c" "0" and
"E" as surplus property.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall

certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and

thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
