RESOLUTION NO. 6345
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF THE CONTRACT FOR REROOFING BY AND BETWEEN THE
CITY OF VERNON AND REY-CREST ROOFING AND
WATERPROOFING COMPANY FOR THE REROOFING OF THE
CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S OFFICE AND REJECTING THE BID
FOR THE REROOFING OF THE SMALL GARAGE.
WHEREAS, the roof of the City Administrator's
office needs immediate repair and the City Council finds
that the possibility of damage from rain is likely if a
Contract for repairs is not awarded immediately and for that
reason and in the public interest the city Council waives
formal Contract procedures of Vernon City Code sections 2.28
and 2.29; and
WHEREAS, Victor H. Vaits, the Interim Director of
Community Services, invited sealed bids which were opened on
November 1, 1993 for the construction work associated with
the reroofing of the City Administrator's office and small
garage; and
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to the Interim
Director of Community Services, who has reported to the City
Council under the date of November 9, 1993, recommending
that a contract for reroofing of the City Administrator's
office be awarded to Rey-Crest Roofing and Waterproofing
Company on the basis of its bid in the sum of Twenty-two
Thousand Six Hundred Thirty Dollars ($22,630.00) being the
lowest responsible bid meeting the requirements of the
specifications; and
WHEREAS, the Interim Director of Community
Services has recommended rejecting the bid for the reroofing

1 of the small garage because the plans and specifications for
2 said project have been revised.
3 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
4 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
5 SECTION 1: The City Council of the city of Vernon
6 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
7 hereinabove are true and correct.
8 SECTION 2: The City Council of the city of Vernon
9 does hereby accept the bid of Rey-Crest Roofing and
10 Waterproofing Company, in accordance with the recommendation
11 of Victor H. Vaits, Interim Director of community Services,
12 and hereby approves the Contract for Reroofing, a copy of
13 which has been presented to the city Council concurrently
14 with this Resolution.
15 SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to
16 execution of said Contract.
17 SECTION 4: The City Council of the City of Vernon
18 hereby authorizes the Mayor and the City Clerk to execute
19 said Contract for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.

1 SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
2 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
3 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
