A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF A ONE-YEAR EXTENSION OF CONTRACT NO. 478 BY
AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON AND R. F. DICKSON
COMPANY, INC.

WHEREAS, Contract No. 478, Street sweeping, was awarded
7
to R. F. Dickson Company, Inc., by Resolution No. 5347 on December
8
9, 1986, for a term of three years from January 1, 1987 to
9
December 31, 1989, which has been extended annually since
10
December 31, 1989; and
11
WHEREAS, said contract provides for annual percentage
12
adjustments in the bid price based on seventy-five percent (75%)
13
of the Consumer Price Index as published on January 1 of each year
14
for such annual extensions after December 31, 1989; and
15
WHEREAS, the last extension of said contract was approved
16
by Resolution No. 6182 on November 17, 1992; and
17
WHEREAS, said contract will expire on December 31, 1993,
18
unless extended, and R. F. Dickson Company, Inc. has requested a
19
one-year extension of said contract until December 31, 1994, with
20
21
a waiver of the percentage adjustment in the bid price in
accordance with the Consumer Price Index; and
22
WHEREAS, the Director of community Services has
recommended that said contract be extended and has verified that
23

R. F. Dickson Company, Inc. has waived the Consumer Price Index
25
26
adjustment for the next year.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE

CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
2
does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained
3
hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
approves the Extension of Contract No. 478 with R. F. Dickson
5

Company, Inc. for the period January 1, 1994 to December 31, 1994,
7
a copy of which has been presented to the City Council
8
concurrently with this resolution, and the City Council hereby
9
orders said Extension to be received and filed by the City Clerk.
10
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
11
authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute said Extension for,
12
13
14
and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
15
16
thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 7th day of December, 1993.

1 EXTENSION OF CONTRACT NO. 478
2 FOR 1994
3 That certain Contract No. 478, street sweeping,
4 entered into by and between the city of Vernon and R.F.
5 Dickson Company, Inc. is hereby extended for a one (1) year
6 period from January 1, 1994 through December 31, 1994
7 according to the section on "Contract Extension" on page 3 of
8 the Special provisions of said contract.
9 The consideration paid to R. F. Dickson Company, Inc.
10 shall consist of monthly payments in the amount of Three
11 Thousand Nine Hundred Thirty-Six Dollars and Sixty-Nine Cents
12 ($3,936.69), and the adjustment in accordance with the
13 Consumer Price Index is hereby waived by R.F. Dickson Company,
14 Inc.
