A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF A 1995 POWER SALES AGREEMENT BY AND BETWEEN
THE CITY OF VERNON AND SAN DIEGO GAS & ELECTRIC
COMPANY

WHEREAS, the City of Vernon receives power from the
Southern California Edison Company pursuant to tariff schedules
7

approved by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (lfFERCIf); and
WHEREAS, FERC approved tariff schedules provide at
Special Condition 12 that Vernon may purchase power from other
9

suppliers in accordance with certain prescribed notice provisions;
and
13
WHEREAS, San Diego Gas & Electric Company (lfSDG&EIf) is
14
engaged in the generation, transmission, sale and purchase of
15
electric power and energy; and
16

WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has provided notice to Edison
that it intends to purchase capacity and associated energy as a
18
nonintegrated resource; and
19
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon believes that SDG&E is able
20
to meet its needs and concerns in a prudent and reliable manner;
21
and
22
23
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon and SDG&E
wish to enter into a power sales agreement to provide for the
24
purchase of capacity and energy from SDG&E for 1995.
25
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
26
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does

hereby find and determine that the recitals contained hereinabove
2
are true and correct.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
4
approves the 1995 Power Sales Agreement, a copy of which has been
5
presented to the City Council concurrently with this resolution,
6
and the City Council hereby orders said Agreement to be received
7
and filed by the City Clerk.
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
8
9 authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute said Agreement for,
10 and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.
11
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
12 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
13 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.

this 12th day of July, 1994.

signed by the Mayor of the City of Vernon.
