1 RESOLUTION NO. 6384
2 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF STEINY AND COMPANY,
3 INC. FOR TRAFFIC SIGNAL MODERNIZATION, SOTO STREET
AND LEONIS BOULEVARD, IN ACCORDANCE WITH
4 CONTRACT NO. 519 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND
APPROVING THE EXECUTION OF SAID CONTRACT

6 WHEREAS, Contract No. 519 of the City of Vernon
7 was approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon
8 pursuant to Resolution No. 6374, and sealed bids were opened
9 on February 1, 1994; and
10 WHEREAS, said bids were referred to victor H.
11 Vaits, Director of Community Services, who has reported to
12 the City council under the date of February 7, 1994,
13 recommending that Contract No. 519 for Traffic Signal
14 MOdernization, Soto Street and Leonis Boulevard be executed
15 with Steiny and Company, Inc. on the basis of its bid in the
16 sum of Seventy-six Thousand One Hundred Fifty-four Dollars
17 ($76,154.00), being the lowest responsible bid meeting the
18 contract requirements.
19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
20 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
22 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
23 hereinabove are true and correct.
24 SECTION 2: The City Council of the city of Vernon
25 does hereby award Contract No. 519 to steiny and Company,
26 Inc., in accordance with the recommendation of victor H.
27 Vaits, Director of Community Services, and authorizes the
28 Mayor to execute said Contract on behalf of the City.

SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to
execution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or
certified checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt
of an executed contract from steiny and Company, Inc.
accompanied by all required bonds and certificates.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
effect.
