A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AUTHORIZING THE SALE OF SURPLUS PROPERTY
FROM THE COMMUNITY SERVICES DEPARTMENT, THE
LIGHT AND POWER DEPARTMENT, THE FIRE DEPARTMENT,
THE CITY CLERK'S DEPARTMENT (FINANCE), AND THE
CITY ADMINISTRATOR'S DEPARTMENT (CITY
ADMINISTRATOR AND CUSTOMER SERVICE) PURSUANT TO
SECTION 2.31 OF THE VERNON CITY CODE

9 WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, Director of Finance, by
lO letter dated February 2, 1994, recommended to the Finance
II Committee that the property from the following departments is
l2 surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon as said items are
l3 obsolete, inoperable and in poor and irreparable condition and are
14 therefor no longer useful to the needs of the City of Vernon:

1. Community Services Department, more particularly
l6 described on the attached Exhibit "A", which is attached hereto
l7 and made a part hereof by reference;

2. Light and Power Department, more particularly
19 described on the attached Exhibit "B", which is attached hereto
20 and made a part hereof by reference;

3. Fire Department, more particularly described on the
22 attached Exhibit "C", which is attached hereto and made a part
23 hereof by reference;

4. City Clerk's Department (Finance), more particularly
25 described on the attached Exhibit liD", which is attached hereto

and Customer Service), more particularly described on the attached
Exhibit "E", which is attached hereto and made a part hereof by
reference; and
WHEREAS, Bruce V. Malkenhorst, the Purchasing Agent, has
recommended that the said surplus property described in the
attached Exhibits "A", "B", "c" "0" and "E" be disposed of by
public auction; and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon has
determined that it is in the best interests of the City of Vernon
that the property described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "c"
"D" and "E" be sold as surplus property pursuant to section 2.31
of the Vernon City Code.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: In accordance with Section 37350 of the
Government Code of the State of California, the City Council of
the City of Vernon hereby finds and determines that the property
described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "c" "0" and "E" is
surplus to the needs of the City of Vernon.
SECTION 2: The City AdministratorlCity Clerk is hereby
authorized to contract with an auction company for the sale of the
property described in the attached Exhibits "A", "B", "c" "D" and
"E" as surplus property.

SECTION 3: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and

thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
