RESOLUTION NO. 6398
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE OF A PURCHASE
ORDER TO ROLLINS CHEMPAK, INC. FOR PROPOSAL NO.
3558.10 TO TRANSPORT AND DISPOSE OF CERTAIN
AMOUNTS OF HAZARDOUS WASTE PURSUANT TO THE
EXISTING ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES AGREEMENT
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon by
Resolution No. 6356 on November 23, 1993, entered into an
Environmental Services Agreement with Rollins Chempak, Inc.
("Contractor") for the hauling, transfer, processing, treatment, and
disposal of hazardous waste; and
WHEREAS, the Standard Terms and Conditions of said
Agreement authorize the City to solicit proposals from the
Contractor from time to time for the disposal of hazardous waste;
and
WHEREAS, the City of Vernon, through normal operations at
the City Yard, has accumulated certain amounts of materials
classified as hazardous waste; and
WHEREAS, because State law imposes a limit on the storage
of such materials, the City of Vernon must arrange for the
transportation and disposal of these materials by a licensed firm;
and
WHEREAS, at the city's request Contractor by letter dated
March 9, 1994, has submitted Proposal No. 3558.10 for the disposal
of specified hazardous waste at an estimated price of $23,950.25 in
accordance with the detailed cost estimate submitted as part of said
Proposal; and
WHEREAS, the Interim Director of Community Services and the
Director of Environmental Health recommend that a purchase order be
issued for the services under said Proposal.

1 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
2 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
SECTION 1:
4 finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are
5 true and correct.

The City Council of the City of Vernon
SECTION 2:
7 approves Proposal No. 3558.10 from Rollins Chempak, Inc., a copy of
8 which has been presented to the City Council concurrently with this
9 resolution, and the City Council hereby orders said Proposal to be
lO received and filed by the City Clerk.

SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
l2 authorizes the City Administrator to issue a purchase order in the
l3 amount of Twenty-three Thousand Nine Hundred Fifty Dollars and
l4 Twenty-five Cents ($23,950.25) to accomplish the work detailed in
l5 Proposal No. 3558.10.

SECTION 4:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
l7 certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
l8 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
