A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AUTHORIZING THE CITY CLERK TO MAKE AND
DELIVER A CERTIFICATE OF ELECTION TO COUNCIL
MEMBERS LEONIS C. MALBURG, THOMAS A. YBARRA, AND
WILLIAM M. MCCORMICK AND TO ADMINISTER THE OATH
OF OFFICE

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon by

Resolution No.
6385 on February 14,
1994,
appointed Leonis C.
9 Malburg, Thomas A. Ybarra, and William M. McCormick members of the
10 City Council to serve a term of four (4) years pursuant to Ordinance
II No. 1019 of the City of Vernon and Section 22843.5 of the Elections
12 Code of the State of California; and
13 WHEREAS, the election scheduled for April 12, 1994, was
14 therefor cancelled; and
15 WHEREAS, Section 22843.5 of the Elections Code provides, in
16 part, as follows:
17 ". . .The person appointed, if any, shall qualify
18 and take office and serve exactly as if elected
19
at a municipal election for the office. . .

WHEREAS, Section 22934 of the Elections Code requires that
the City Clerk sign and deliver a Certificate of Election and
administer the oath of office.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE

CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1:
The City Clerk shall immediately make and
26 deliver to Leonis C. Malburg, Thomas A. Ybarra, and William M.
27 McCormick a Certificate of Election signed by the City Clerk and
28 duly authenticated.

Malburg, Thomas A. Ybarra, and William M. McCormick the oath of
SECTION 2: The City Clerk shall administer to Leonis C.
office prescribed in the State Constitution of the State of
4 California and shall have them subscribe thereto and file the same
5
in the office of the City Clerk.
Whereupon, Mr. Malburg, Mr.
6

Ybarra, and Mr. McCormick shall be inducted into the respecti ve
office to which they have been elected.

SECTION 3:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution,
and thereupon and

10 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
