RESOLUTION NO. 6417
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE BID OF ARROW STRAIGHT
MARKING AND STRIPING SERVICE FOR T~.FFIC PAVEMENT
STRIPING 1994 IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT NO. 522
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AND APPROVING THE EXECUTION
OF SAID CONTRACT
WHEREAS, Contract No. 522 of the City of Vernon
was approved by the City Council of the City of Vernon
pursuant to Resolution No. 6404, and sealed bids were opened
on May 11, 1994; and
WHEREAS, said bids were referred to Victor H.
Vaits, Interim Director of Community Services, who has
reported to the City Council under the date of May 12, 1994,
recommending that Contract No. 522 for Traffic Pavement
Striping 1994 be executed with Arrow straight Marking and
Striping Service on the basis of its bid in the sum of
Forty-five Thousand Three Hundred Dollars Ninety-one cents
($45,300.91), being the lowest responsible bid meeting the
contract requirements.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
hereinabove are true and correct.
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby award Contract No. 522 to Arrow Straight Marking
and Striping Service, in accordance with the recommendation
of Victor H. Vaits, Interim Director of Community services,
and authorizes the Mayor to execute said Contract on behalf

1 of the City.
2 SECTION 3: All other bids are rejected subject to
3 execution of the contract and the City Treasurer is hereby
4 directed to return unsuccessful bidders any cashier or
5 certified checks deposited with said bids upon the receipt
6 of an executed contract from Arrow straight Marking and
7 striping service accompanied by all required bonds and
8 certificates.
9 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
10 shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
11 thereupon and thereafter the same shall be in full force and
12 effect.
13 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 17th day of May, 1994.
