A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON AMENDING RESOLUTION NOS. 4983 AND 5789 TO
APPOINT KENNETH J. DEDARIO, DIRECTOR OF LIGHT
AND POWER, TO REPRESENT THE CITY OF VERNON ON
THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF THE SOUTHERN
CALIFORNIA PUBLIC POWER AUTHORITY AND TO APPOINT
JORGE SOMOANO, RESOURCE PLANNING MANAGER, TO ACT
AS AN ALTERNATE

WHEREAS, Resolution No. 4983, which was approved by the

City Council of the City of Vernon on March 22, 1983, appointed
10

Bruce V. Malkenhorst to represent the City of Vernon on the Board
of Directors of the Southern California Public Power Authority
12

(SCPPA) and Lewis R. Adams to act as an alternate on said Board;
and
14
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 5789, which was approved by the
City Council of the City of Vernon on July 17, 1990, amended
15

Resolution No. 4983 to appoint Kenneth J. DeDario, Director of
Light and Power, to represent the City of Vernon on the Board of
Directors of SCPPA as an alternate due to the retirement of Lewis
17

R. Adams; and
20

WHEREAS, the City of Vernon desires to amend Resolution
Nos. 4983 and 5789 to appoint new representatives to the Board of
Directors of SCPPA.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: That the City Council of the City of Vernon
does hereby find and determine that the recitals contained
27
hereinabove are true and correct.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby

appoints Kenneth J. DeDario, Director of Light and Power, to
2
represent the City of Vernon on the Board of Directors of SCPPA
3
and does hereby appoint Jorge Somoano, Resource Planning Manager
of the Light and Power Department, as his alternate on said Board
4

of Directors until further order of the city council.
SECTION 3: The City Administrator is hereby authorized
7
to deliver a copy of this Resolution to the Board of Directors of
8
SCPPA.

SECTION 4: That in all other respects, Resolution Nos.
10
4983 and 5789, shall remain in full force and effect and the
II
provisions in Resolution Nos. 4983 and 5789 not consistent with or
12
13
in conflict with this Resolution are hereby repealed.
SECTION 5: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
14 certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
15 thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
