A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF AN INSPECTION SERVICES CONTRACT WITH TWINING
AND ASSOCIATES, INC. TO PROVIDE QUALITY CONTROL
INSPECTION OF THE WELDING AND OF THE
INTERIOR/EXTERIOR COATING OF RESERVOIR 2-3 IN
CONJUNCTION WITH CONTRACT NO. 523

WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Vernon by
8
Resolution No. 6446 on June 7, 1994, approved Contract No. 523 for
9
the rehabilitation of Reservoir 2-3 in the City of Vernon; and

WHEREAS, the State Health Department requirements call
II
for special care to insure use of proper materials and application
l2
for facilities used for potable water; and
l3
WHEREAS, the Interim Director of Community Services has
l4
recommended that the services of Twining & Associates, Inc. be
l5
engaged to provide quality control inspection of the welding and
l6
of the interior/exterior coating of Reservoir No. 2-3, which
l7
services will be performed in conjunction with City of Vernon
l8
Contract No. 523 at an estimated cost of $30,000.00; and

WHEREAS, the City council is authorized to award
20
contracts for services without formal bid procedures pursuant to
2l City Code Section
Vernon 2.27.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT

CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon does
25
hereby find and determine that the recitals contained hereinabove
26
are true and correct.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
28

approves the Inspection Services Contract, a copy of which has
2
been presented to the City Council concurrently with this
3
resolution, and the City Council hereby orders said Contract to be
4 received and filed by the City Clerk.
5 SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
6 authorizes the Mayor and City Clerk to execute said Contract for,
7 and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.
8 SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
9
certify to the passage of this resolution and thereupon and
lO thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
