A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF AN AGREEMENT FOR PROFESSIONAL SERVICES BY
AND BETWEEN THE CITY OF VERNON AND WILLDAN
ASSOCIATES

WHEREAS, the City of Vernon has entered into an Agreement,
7
for PaYment of Engineering and Bond Counsel Costs with Vernon Metro
8
a California
Limited Partnership,
subdividing and
Center
II,
9
redeveloping the property at 3030 Atlantic Boulevard in the city of
lO
II
Vernon ("Property"); and

WHEREKS-, Vernon Metro Center II has requested that an

assessment district be formed to pay costs of street improvements
l3
and other authorized costs for said redevelopment; and
l4
WHEREAS, in order to create an assessment district on the
l5
Property, it will be necessary for the City to enter into a contract
l6 with an engineering firm for the formation of an assessment district
l7
pursuant to the Municipal Improvement Act of 1913; and
l8
WHEREAS, on June 16, 1994, victor H. Vaits, Interim
19
Director of Community Services, recommended that Willdan Associa~es
20
be hired as the Assessment Engineer; and
2l
WHEREAS, the City desires to engage Willdan Associates to
22
perform assessment engineering services.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
24 CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the city of Vernon hereby
26
finds and determines that the recitals contained hereinabove are
27 true and correct.

approves Agreement for Professional Services, a copy of which has
SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
3 been presented to the City Council concurrently with this
4

resolution, and the City Council hereby orders said Agreement to be
received and filed by the City Clerk.

authorizes the Mayor and the city Clerk to execute said Agreement
SECTION 3: The City Council of the City of Vernon hereby
8
9
for, and on behalf of, the City of Vernon.
SECTION 4: The City Clerk of the City of Vernon shall
lO certify to the passage of this resolution, and thereupon and
II thereafter the same shall be in full force and effect.
l2 APPROVED AND ADOPTED this 2nd day of August, 1994.
