A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
VERNON COMMENDING LT. LES W. BROWN FOR HIS MANY
YEARS OF SERVICE TO THE CITY OF VERNON

WHEREAS, LT. LES W. BROWN has been employed by the City
6
of Vernon since October 16, 1968; and
7
WHEREAS, LT. LES W. BROWN will retire from the service of
8
the City of Vernon on November 20, 1994; and
9
WHEREAS, LT. LES W. BROWN was hired by the City of Vernon
10
II
as a Police Officer in the Vernon Police Department on October 16,
1968, advanced to the position of Sergeant in 1980, promoted to
l2 Lieutenant in 1984, assigned to Detective Division Lieutenant in
l3
1987, and assigned to Industrial Relations Lieutenant in 1990; and
14
WHEREAS, LT. LES W. BROWN has faithfully served the City
15
of Vernon for approximately 26 years, and his loss will be deeply
16
felt by the City of Vernon.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE
CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:

SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon takes
this opportunity to commend LT. LES W. BROWN for his many years of

devoted service to the City of Vernon.

SECTION 2: The City Council of the City of Vernon wishes-
LT. LES W. BROWN continued success in whatever endeavors he may
24 undertake.

SECTION 3: The City Council of the city of Vernon shall
certify to the passage of this resolution and present a certified

copy thereof to LT. LES W. BROWN and that thereupon and thereafter
the same shall be in full force and effect.
