RESOLUTION NO. 6558
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF VERNON ACCEPTING THE WORK OF SHAWNAN
CORPORATION, IN ACCORDANCE WITH CONTRACT
NO. 520 OF THE CITY OF VERNON
WHEREAS, Shawnan Corporation was awarded Contract
7 No. 520 for work on Resurfacing of Certain Streets pursuant
8 to Resolution No. 6422 of the City of Vernon; and
9 WHEREAS, Samuel Kevin Wilson, Acting Director of
10 Community Services has reported to the City Council of the
11 City of Vernon on December 13, 1994, that said work has been
12 completed and recommends that the work be accepted and
13 payment be made to the Contractor in accordance with the
14 agreement.
16 OF THE CITY OF VERNON AS FOLLOWS:
17 SECTION 1: The City Council of the City of Vernon
18 hereby finds and determines that the recitals contained
19 hereinabove are true and correct.
20 SECTION 2: The work of Shawnan Corporation,
21 pursuant to Contract No. 520 is hereby approved by the City
22 of Vernon.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL
SECTION 3:
The total contract amount including
24 Extra Work Order No. 1 and less damage and inspection
25 charges is Three Hundred Six Thousand Nine Hundred Thirty-
26 three Dollars six Cents ($306,933.06). There is now due to
27 the Contractor a final partial payment totaling Fourteen
28 Thousand Seven Hundred Sixty-two Dollars Three Cents

2 remaining ten percent (10%) of the total contract amount, or

($14,762.03), which is payable at this time, and the
the sum of Thirty Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-three Dollars
Thirty-one Cents ($30,693.31) is payable thirty-five days
after the adoption of this resolution.
SECTION 4:
The City Council of the City of Vernon
hereby directs payment of said sums as set forth to Shawnan
Corporation and instructs the City Clerk to file a notice of
9 completion with the County Recorder.

SECTION 5:
The City Clerk of the City of Vernon
shall certify to the passage of this resolution and
thereupon and thereafter the same shall be full force and
13 effect.
